Overview
Merge Empire FC ("the App") is a mobile idle/merge football card game developed by Kevin Matthews. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App and this website collect, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.
Playing Without Signing In
You can play the whole game without an account. Your progress is saved on your device, and nothing about your game is sent to us unless you choose to sign in.
Signing In, and What We Store
Signing in is optional. It exists so that your progress can be backed up beyond your device and so that your results can appear on the global leaderboards. You sign in with an account you already have — your Google account or your Apple ID — and we never see or store your password.
When you sign in, we store the following on our servers (Google Firebase):
- A sign-in record — an account identifier for you, and the email address that Google or Apple provides to us as part of signing in.
- Your cloud save — a backup of your game progress: your club, your squad, your season and your settings.
- Your leaderboard entries — your club name, your division, your country and your scores for each ranking period. Your country is worked out from your device's language setting, not from your location.
You can hide yourself from the leaderboards at any time in the game's settings, and you can ask us to delete all of this — see Deleting Your Data below.
Information Collected by Third-Party Services
- Google AdMob — the App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and advertising interaction data to serve relevant ads. Please see Google's Privacy Policy for details.
- Firebase Analytics — the App records anonymous usage events, such as which screens are opened and when a reward is claimed, so that we can see which parts of the game are used and improve them. These are recorded against a device identifier, not against you.
- Firebase Crashlytics — when the App crashes, a report is sent containing the technical details of the fault and the state of the device at the time, such as the device model, the operating system version and how much memory was free. This is what lets us find and fix crashes.
Weather in the Game
The weather over the pitch follows the real weather where you are. To do that, the App works out a rough, city-level position from your device's time zone — it never asks for location permission and never reads your actual location — and sends those approximate coordinates to Open-Meteo to fetch the current conditions. Nothing identifying you is sent with the request.
In-App Purchases
The App offers optional in-app purchases processed by the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information. Please refer to Google Play's policies for details on purchase data handling.
Advertising
The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements, including rewarded ads and interstitial ads. AdMob may use cookies and device identifiers to serve relevant ads. You can opt out of personalised advertising through your device settings (Google Settings → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation), and where local law requires it you will be asked for your consent before any personalised ads are shown, with the option to change your mind at any time from the game's settings.
Users who purchase the VIP Manager Pass will not be shown interstitial advertisements for the duration of their subscription.
Website Analytics & Cookies
This website (mergeempirefc.co.uk) uses Firebase (Google Analytics for the web), which sets cookies and uses similar technologies to measure site traffic and usage patterns. It collects anonymised usage data such as pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and referral source. The information collected is aggregated and is not used to identify individual visitors. You can prevent this collection by using your browser's settings to block cookies, by enabling "Do Not Track", or by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Children's Privacy
Merge Empire FC contains no violence and no adult content. The game can be played in full without signing in, and a player who does not sign in has nothing stored about them on our servers.
Signing in requires an existing Google or Apple account, which carries its own age requirements. The only thing another player can see is the club name shown on the leaderboards, and appearing there can be turned off at any time in the game's settings.
In-app purchases require parental approval on devices configured with parental controls through the Google Play Store or the App Store.
Data Retention
Your cloud save and leaderboard entries are kept for as long as you keep playing, and are deleted when you ask us to delete them. Crash reports are kept for up to 90 days, and anonymous usage analytics for no longer than 14 months.
The copy of your progress held on your device is yours to remove at any time by uninstalling the App or clearing the App's data through your device settings.
Deleting Your Data
You can ask us to delete your account and everything stored against it at any time, whether or not you still have the game installed. Deleting it does not affect your Google or Apple account, and you can sign in again afterwards and start afresh.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the date at the bottom of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
